Hi! I’m Michael
I am an attachment-based therapist practicing within the Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Internal Family Systems frameworks. I believe true healing happens when our body can relax into our heart and not seek protection from our brain (I call it logifying!). This vulnerability helps to build stronger, safer, and more secure attachments with yourself and the people around you.
My work centers on neurodiverse and mixed-neurotype attachments. I strive to create a space where all parties can feel safe, supported, and heard, opening the door to deeper levels of communication and connection. Together, we create a space that is separate from the world. We create a space that fits your neurotype – not the other way around. Our sessions focus on your lived experiences. We will explore them, identify the parts that were developed to protect you because of them, and then map the patterns that you find yourself trapped in. Together, we rewrite your narratives and learn new ways of being that help you feel more secure, grounded, and authentic without being in survival mode all the time.
I operate in a space that is affirming and non-judgmental to all people. This includes queer, kink/BDSM, and polyamorous relationships. I strive to remain culturally sensitive and always seek to understand more about your roots, while being conscious of my own identities and learned biases. My goal is for you to leave our time together feeling seen, supported, and excited for what your future can be!
Fun fact: I am a US Navy Veteran and current active-duty military spouse. I am working on my Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy, where I am focusing my research on the impact of neurodiversity on sex and relationships. Outside of therapy, I love to listen to dystopian novels while I bake sweet treats, play video games, and spend time with my fur-babies. I enjoy horror films and am always down for a haunted house during spooky season. Early 2000s music was a top-tier music era, and I will not be taking any questions or counter-arguments at this time!

So, who am I going to be talking to?
I spent a lot of time learning how to be a therapist. But that’s my career; it’s not all of me.
When I sign off for the day, I am a husband, uncle, and fur-dad. Sometimes I’m messy, withdrawn, and cranky. Other times, I’m Ouiser Boudreaux smiling at Drum!
People are complicated. I know that about myself, and I believe it about the people who sit across from me. You are more than a list of symptoms, diagnoses, or experiences, and I would be doing you a disservice if I tried to shrink you down to whatever happens to be causing you pain right now.
Outside the therapy office, I’m working on my Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy, which, admittedly, takes up a pretty significant portion of my “time off.” When I actually have downtime, I love being outdoors: hiking and camping in the summer and snowboarding in the winter. I’m also a huge hockey fan. Let’s go Kraken!
When I’m staying home, you’ll probably find me reading a dystopian novel (okay, listening to one), watching Netflix, or playing video games. I’m also getting pretty good at quilting! One of my favorite things about living in the Seattle/Tacoma area is that there always seems to be something new left to experience.
Public service has always had my heart. I’m a Navy veteran and military spouse, and therapy is actually my second career after spending ten years in the public sector. Those experiences have given me a life outside the therapist’s chair, and I think that matters.
I’m also active in local queer organizations that advocate for queer rights and visibility, promote universal joy, and expiate stigmatic guilt.
